Tell us what's going on
We listen to your full story, the pain, the limitations, how long you've had it, what you've already tried,
and what your goals are.
Never scans & imagining
We run surface electromyography (EMG) and infrared thermography to measure nerve and muscle function.
Then we take digital X-rays on-site; no referrals, no waiting.
Between visits, Dr. Deakin analyzes all your results
Understand your spine and your scans
Dr. Deakin walks you through your X-rays, nerve scans, and full report of findings. He’ll teach you how to read
your scans, show you where the problem is, and explain why you’re feeling what you’re feeling. No jargon, no rushing.
Create your spinal decompression plan
By the end of your second visit, we’ll create an individualized spinal decompression plan based on your
condition, disc level, severity, symptoms, and goals, so your care is built around what your body actually needs.
If you choose to move forward, treatment begins with your personalized decompression protocol. Sessions are comfortable; many patients relax or fall asleep. We monitor progress with follow-up scans. The goal isn't just less pain; it's better movement, better sleep, and a properly functioning spine.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Experience advanced spinal care in Burlington

Dr. Deakin has spent over 20 years focused on helping people with disc-related pain find a path forward without surgery or long-term medication.
His own experience with severe sciatica and low back pain is what led him into spinal decompression. That personal understanding shapes how he treats every patient who walks through the door.
He's known for taking the time to walk patients through their own X-rays and explain exactly what's going on before recommending anything.
Your initial exam includes an in-depth consultation, surface electromyography (EMG), infrared thermography, in-house digital X-rays, a review of any existing imaging you bring, and a complete report of findings that Dr. Deakin walks you through personally. This happens over two visits.
The first visit is the assessment, where we gather all the data. Between visits, Dr. Deakin personally analyzes your X-rays, nerve scans, and history. The second visit is your report of findings, where he walks you through everything and explains your options. This approach means you get a thorough, honest assessment, not a rushed sales pitch.
Spinal decompression can support people dealing with sciatica, herniated discs, bulging discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, chronic back pain, neck pain, and radiating nerve symptoms. The best way to understand what is happening in your spine is through a detailed initial exam, spinal scans, digital X-rays, and a personalized report of findings.
No. Most patients find it comfortable and relaxing. The table applies gentle, controlled traction, no cracking, twisting, or sudden force. Some patients actually fall asleep during sessions.
Spinal decompression specifically targets disc compression by creating negative pressure within the disc space. It’s designed for disc-related conditions like herniations, bulges, and degenerative disc issues, not general spinal stiffness or joint restrictions.
That depends on severity, how long you’ve had it, and how your body responds. We’ll discuss a recommended plan during your report of findings at the second visit.
It helps, but it’s not required. If you have existing imaging, bring it, Dr. Deakin will review it with you. If you don’t have any, we’ll determine during the exam whether additional imaging is needed.
Many of our patients come to us after being told surgery is their only option. Spinal decompression may offer a conservative alternative worth exploring. Your initial exam will help determine how decompression can work for you.
